Photos from the Road

Road Trip

We pulled out of Provo a whoppin' three weeks ago a little before lunchtime. We took our son, our belongings, Andrew's mom, and Andrew's brother and headed on a three day journey that seemed like 300 years but, now that it's over, only took a blink of an eye. Andrew drove the Budget, I drove Little Red (our little red civic) half of the time and the rest of the time, sat with Mr. C. as we swapped pointless stories and had a lot of singing competitions.

Not gonna lie, traveling with a near-one-year-old and a moving van killed our time and, by the time we stopped for dinner, we were barely in Wyoming. But hey! It might have been a loss to us, but it was a victory for Maxwell.

And his victory became even sweeter when it started to rain and we stopped at a hotel in Nebraska City. The hotel was out of baby beds when we got there at 2, so Maxwell spent most of the night ooing, cooing, snuggling, pushing Andrew away from me when he got too close, and giving kisses. Basically, it was the best night of his life, even though I gave him a bath in the sink and I wouldn't let him eat the soap.

We left really late the next morning and, a few hours in, realized that the interstate connecting Nebraska to Kansas City was flooded so we spent like five hours on small country highways. Not gonna lie, I was really annoyed. So was Mr. C., but then we just ate a whole bunch of peanut butter m&m's and felt better.

We stopped at my mom and dad's house that night, somehow squished more into our moving truck and the next day? We made it to Fayetteville! It's been two weeks and we love it here, even though I still have three piles to sort through, not to mention a whole wall that I just decided to redecorate. Here's to a new home!
