I want to be that person who is amazing at multi-tasking everything, but the truth is I just came off a four-day twenty-four-seven editing streak where I only stopped to sleep and barely even stopped to eat and, now that I've edited every single photo on my computer (hooray!), I'm slapping this Italy post together instead of doing the much-neglected dishes.
So! Our trip to Italy was fun and funny and rainy and beautiful and, in Pompeii, my husband made me so mad (even though I don't even remember why?) that the only thing that cured my anger was an enormous thunderstorm that resulted in my husband catching a cold. I mean, I'm just not one to be angry at a sniffling husband so we ended up laughing instead. Rome was massive, Venice was gorgeous, and our favorite place was Florence. We stayed downtown and ate the best pizza of our lives and went on a proper date without a stroller or worry about getting back to the babysitter on time. And the art in Italy! The art! It is everywhere. And maybe better than the art? The flowers! Holy moly. I loved the flowers and the bikes and, most of all, the gelato. It was beautiful. I loved it.
Here are some photographs!
Pretty positive this is the most my face has been shown on this blog in, like, the whole history of it being written. But! At least y'all know what I look like now? I may be pretty average looking, but I AM looking at the camera in some of these! Hooray! And hooray for family trips!
